The British government said on Friday that the Boko Haram insurgency had brought untold misery to many people in Nigeria and in the neighbouring countries.
It also condemned the recent attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents on innocent people in the North-East.
In a statement by its Minister for Africa, Grant Shapps, the British government condemned the appalling attacks which had killed over 100 persons during the celebration of Eid el-Fitr.
Shapps said, “I am horrified by the attacks in North-East Nigeria over the last two days. Over 100 people have been killed including in an attack targeting Muslim worshippers during Eid Al-Fitr. My thoughts and sympathies are with the victims and their families.
“Boko Haram terrorist attacks in Nigeria and in the wider region have brought untold misery and suffering to people of all faiths and backgrounds. The UK remains unwavering in our resolve to support Nigeria and its neighbours in their fight against terrorism.”
